It was nice to get recognition from such a prestigious source as the Harvard Medical School.

Special interest is the way "exercise researches think in metabolic equivalents, or METS", says the issue. It reports on the METS of common activities - from light, to moderate to vigorous.

I most definitely recommend getting a copy of the September 2008 issue of the Harvard Health Letter! Volume 33, # 11.

I'd be interested to know how you all feel about the letter.

In other news, as the group facilitator of the Westport, CT Parkinson's Support Group, I have asked all of the participants with Parkinson's to write up a short description of their experience. This should really be useful, since each case of Parkinson's is different. By having each case in writing, we can look to see if there are any similarities in our symptoms and reactions to PD in general. It would be great if any of you would also share your experiences with us, so that we can further compare the progression of the disease.

The reports are due at our next meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, August 27th. Hope that this can prove valuable to both those with PD and the medical community.

Please also check back on our website every month or so, as Nevah Surrendah.org now has an up and running blog! Enjoy the rest of your summer, and happy almost fall!

Nevah Surrendah,

Paul
